FASTag Scam exposed Viral Video Real or Fake: Today social media has become such a medium where photos or videos become viral in no time. However, how much truth is there in the pictures or videos going viral whether they are official or not or just to spread confusion, these things do not get much attention. Recently, a video is going viral on social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter, which is about the FASTag scam.

FASTag Scam viral video on social media

We are talking about a video that is going viral on social media, which is being shared rapidly on almost all social platforms. In the video, two youths are sitting in the car and talking to a child who is wiping the car, who has a smartwatch in his hand. After cleaning the car, the child leaves without taking money, then the driver of the car calls that child to take the money. When the child is asked about the smartwatch he is wearing, he runs away.

What is narrative of viral video

The entire video shows the scam of withdrawing money from the linked bank by scanning the FASTag code through the watch. The child’s watch has an in-built scanner that scans the FASTag sticker on the windshield of the vehicle. And thus money is withdrawn from your linked bank account or e-wallet. Let us tell you that this video is completely fake and there is no truth in it.

FASTag Scam video real or fake?

As per the National Electronics Toll Collection (NETC) guidelines, FASTag payments can only be completed by official merchants and FASTag is absolutely secure. This has also been confirmed by the online payment app Paytm and it has been told that this video is completely fake.

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has also called this video FAKE (नेशनल पेमेंट्स कॉरपोरेशन ऑफ इंडिया (NPCI) ने भी इस वीडियो को FAKE कहा है). Social media users have also demanded action against those who made this fake video.

FASTag Online

The FASTag system uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to make toll payments from a prepaid or savings account. FASTag is an electronic toll collection system in India, operated by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). FASTag can be purchased from toll plazas and its recharge can also be done through banks like SBI, ICICI, HDFC, Axis, IndusInd Bank etc.
