Indian Railway Recruitment 2024: Vacancies for 598 posts of Loco Pilot

Indian Railways has announced vacancies for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot in Nagpur Division under SECR. Candidates can apply through the official website secr.indianrailways.gov.in.

Category wise vacancy:

  • UR- 464 posts
  • SC- 89 posts
  • ST- 45 posts
  • Total number of posts – 598 posts

Age Limit:

  • For candidates belonging to unreserved category, the age limit should be between 18 to 42 years.
  • The age limit of SC/ST category candidates has been fixed at 18 to 47 years.

Educational Qualification:

  • Must have passed class 10th from any recognized board or institute.
  • ITI certificate in related trade is necessary.

Salary: Rs 35,400 per month

  3. Fill in your name, email address, mobile number and other information.
  4. Upload scanned copies of birth certificate, educational qualification certificate and other important documents.
  5. Deposit the registration fee and submit the final and save or take a print out.

Selection Process: On the basis of computer based test.

Procedure for Computer Based Testing (CBT):

  1. CBT shall comprise of two parts: Part-A and Part-B
  2. Total Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes & Total Questions: 175

Syllabus For Part-A:

Mathematics:

Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work: Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.

General Intelligence and Reasoning:

Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and decision making, Similarities and differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement-Arguments and Assumptions etc. .

Basic Science and Engineering:

The broad topics that are covered under this shall be Engineering Drawing (Projections, Views, Drawing Instruments, Lines, Geometric figures, Symbolic Representation), Units, Measurements, Mass Weight and Density, Work Power and Energy, Speed and Velocity, Heat and Temperature , Basic Electricity, Levers and Simple Machines, Occupational Safety and Health, Environment Education, IT Literacy etc.

General Awareness on Current Affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and any other subjects of importance.

Syllabus for Part-B:

Part-B is only an aptitude test in nature and will contain questions from various trade courses prescribed by the Directorate General of Training (DGT).
