The Market cap of companies listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Monday reached an all-time record level of Rs 315 lakh crore. Bank Nifty closed 142 points higher at 44,578 on strong investor sentiment, while the Nifty closed above 19,500 for the first time since August 10.
BSE’s benchmark index Sensex based on 30 shares closed at 65,628.14 points with a gain of 240.98 points or 0.37 percent. Earlier also, Sensex had risen by 555.75 points or 0.86 percent. With this, the total mcap of the companies listed on BSE increased to Rs 3,15,01,090.40 crore, which is the highest ever.
Nifty had slipped between 10 and 11 am today after opening higher at 19,525 but recovered immediately. Except the FMCG sector, all the indices closed in the green. Bank Nifty also closed at 44,578, up 142 points. New highs were seen in midcap and smallcap indices.
