In the recent RIL 46th AGM, Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani said that Reliance Jio’s 5G services have made the fastest start in the world and the company is on the right track to reach it across the country by December this year. He has also announced the launch of Jio True 5G Developer Platform, Jio True 5G Lab and JioAirFiber.

Addressing the RIL 46th AGM, Mukesh Ambani said “We are building a platform that will change the way Indian industry, small businesses and technology startups interact with the digital world.”

Keeping in mind the needs of the current and future industry, Jio is engaged in creating a comprehensive platform by combining 5G network, edge computing and applications.

JioAirFiber to launch on 19 September

Mukesh Ambani has announced the launch of ‘JioAirFiber’ on the day of ‘Ganesh Chaturthi’ i.e. 19 September. He said, “More than one crore premises are connected to our optical fiber service Jio Fiber. There are still lakhs of campuses where it is difficult to provide wire connectivity.

Jio has more than 50 million customers using 5G network. Already Jio is far ahead of its rival companies, their customers are continuously increasing. In such a situation, it is going to be easy for Reliance to give the benefit of JioAirFiber to the existing customer.

Jio’s optical fiber infrastructure is spread over 1.5 million kilometers across India. On an average, customers on optical fiber use more than 280 GB of data per month, which is 10 times more than Jio’s per capita mobile data consumption. Jio has set a target of adding 1.5 lakh new customers every day as soon as this service is launched on 19th September. Through this, they are hoping to reach 20 crore homes and premises.

RIL has invested more than $150 billion in these sectors in the last 10 years. RIL’s consolidated revenue in FY23 was ₹9,74,864 crore, EBITDA was ₹1,53,920 crore and net profit was ₹73,670 crore. Reliance created new records in employment generation by creating 2.6 lakh jobs in FY2023.
